Day 14: Butterbeer and Birthday Cake

Today being my birthday I attempted TWO Pinterest pins today! LOL

First, I made my birthday cake.  OK, so I actually made it last night, but we ate it today!

It was so simple and VERY good!
Ice Cream Sandwich Cake

Ingredients:
2 boxes of 12 ice cream sandwiches (I used 17 total in a 9x9 pan and bought the mint chip ones)
1 cup frosting (I used chocolate fudge)
1 cup white chocolate chips
1 cup hot fudge
1 cup m&ms

First create one layer of ice cream sandwiches.

Melt your frosting for ~40 seconds until pourable and pour/spread over first layer.
Sprinkle chocolate chips on top.

Next create a second layer of ice cream sandwiches.
Melt the hot fudge and pour on top.
Sprinkle with m&ms.

Place in freezer until ready to serve, then dig in!  This was a HUGE hit!

Original recipe found HERE.

Next up was the drink to go with my birthday lunch today. Butterbeer!
I have loved reading all of the Harry Potter books, and visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter was almost "magical."  But the Butterbeer was a fave!  So I tried to replicate it with a recipe I found on Pinterest.

Ingredients:
2 liters cream soda
1 cup whipping cream
1 7oz container marshmallow creme
2 Tbs imitation butter
2 tsp imitation rum flavor (BUT... 1 tsp is to put in the cream topping. I would way reduce this next time... The smell was overpowering!)

I found HUGE, heavy mugs at Dol*lar Tree!

I didn't, but would next time, freeze the mugs beforehand so they're chilled and frosty!
Put 2 Tbs butter flavor and 1 tsp rum flavor into the cream soda bottle. Slowly rotate to incorporate.
In a blender, pour the whipping cream, 1 tsp (but I'd use much less next time) rum flavor, and the marshmallow creme. Blend well.

Pour your cream soda mix into a mug/glass, add some topping (be careful, it will foam up a lot so be sure you have room for expansion), and enjoy!

Original recipe found HERE.

It was good.  Maybe not JUST like the one I had at the park, but pretty darn close I'd wager! :)  We'll have it again! :)

We tried three totally different butter beer recipes that included combinations of cream soda, butterscotch and other things. One was even a hot beverage. Never got one we felt was trully it though.

What you should know about HIV

-HIV can NOT be spread through casual/household contact. HIV is not spread through hugging, kissing, shaking hands, sharing toys, sneezing, coughing, sharing food, sharing drinks, bathing, swimming or any other casual way. It has been proven that HIV and AIDS can only be spread through sexual contact, birth, breastfeeding and blood to blood contact (such as sharing needles). - HIV is now considered a chronic but manageable disease. With treatment, people who are HIV+ can live indefinitely without developing AIDS and can live long and full lives. - People who are HIV+ deserve to be treated with love, respect, support and acceptance as all people do. Little Did I Know

Little did I know that the road would be so rocky
Little did I know that the trip would take so long
Little did I know that my heart could hurt so much
Little did I know that God is never wrong

Little did I know that love could be so powerful
Little did I know that a dream so far could go
Little did I know that God would place the right ones
Little did I know that my heart, so large, could grow

Little did I know that a dream has it’s own timing
Little did I know that this day would finally come
Little did I know that four souls would be sent to guide me
Little did I know that they would choose to call me mom

But God knew all along and He had a plan to follow
God knew all along that my dream would soon come true
God knew all along that we five should be together
God knew all along that I’d share it all with you
