Olivia is doing so well. She came out of surgery this morning wonderfully and is feeling better already. She of course is very sore and tired. I was here until she was settled and had picked three movies to occupy her :). Then I got some groceries and a long sleeve shirt from Target (it's freezing here in the hospital!) and a few goodies for the kids on clearance in the dollar section - love it! Spent some snuggle time with the boys who were very glad to see me and I them, made some lunch for the munchkins, tucked Liam in for a nap, and then brought Braeden with me to the hospital. I finally had to "make" her sleep. She is one who will stay up if there is a movie or music or anything going on around her, so afraid to miss out!!! :) I put on a movie for Braeden that she already watched and we're keeping vigil on her as she sleeps.
I spoke with one of the doctors and she said that Olivia is doing well and that if all continues on this course, it will be up to the surgeon, but they may allow her to go HOME tomorrow. !!! :) Hooray!!! She has a dressing on her wound that will need to be cleaned and repacked each day for THREE WEEKS. Unfortunately that means that most of our trip to FL, including when we're in the rental house in Orlando that has the private pool, she won't be able to swim! :( I told her we'll make it up somehow, but know that that will be very hard for her on the trip. I'm guessing she may not feel like ice skating as well, but we'll see how it goes.

Oh, bummer! I'm so sorry you're going through all of this. Not very nice treatment from the doctors either. Seriously, do they just skip over HIV in medical school or what? We've had the same type of weird "I don't have a clue" repsonses from doctors.
I will be praying for healing for sweet Olivia! I'm sorry she'll have to miss out on some of the fun on your trip.
Hang in there, mama. You are one tough cookie.
Love from Atlanta,
Amy
Oh my gosh! I just saw all of this (through facebook, and then checked your blog)! I am so glad that she is doing better - but I am sure that was scary! And what a wrench in the vacation plans. UUGH.
I really feel for Olivia, why did this infection have to come now. I'm glad the docs did a successful surgery.
