What's The Saying?

Isn't it something like, "For every one step forward, it seems to be two steps back."?
That's how today feels!

For the past week or so I've been practically running to the mailbox each day after school (work) to check for my USCIS approval letter. Today was no exception. In fact, since I had a work day today I was running between all three school buildings in our district, working on IEPs, and coordinating with the teachers of the other two life skill classes. Going from one building back to my "home" building to pick up Olivia and Braeden at the end of the day, I swung by the house which is a few blocks away to check since I knew the mail had already come.

Lo and behold... an envelope from the Dept of Homeland Security!!! I couldn't believe it!

And yet, when I opened it, I discovered a letter stating that my application could NOT be processed yet as two items were MISSING which needed to be submitted! :( SO DISAPPOINTING! :(

I emailed my worker at my adoption agency and asked that she call me, which she promptly did. She asked me what was needed and that I scan and email a copy of the letter once I was back at home. By the time I got home she had already emailed back a copy of one of the things I needed to include and then a copy of another which should suffice for what they are asking. I had not been made aware to include the first one and should have and the second should have been taken care of by a signature on the homestudy but they were wanting a more detailed letter. So... I am waiting until tomorrow when another worker from the agency is going to make sure that second item will be acceptable (my worker is off the next two days) and then I will mail in the requirements.

What makes it so hard is that it's already been THREE WEEKS since my fingerprints, and my I800a application had already been there a couple weeks or more PRIOR to that, so I just wish I had known LONG ago that these were needed. Just feels like an unnecessary wait. BUT, I know this WHOLE process has been God's timing from the start, so I will (attempt) to remember that and to remind myself that HE is in control and NOT ME! :)

Man, and I thought I was learning that lesson! Guess I needed a reminder! :)

*** Sorry I haven't drawn the giftcard winner yet, I will be doing that tonight after church!

It had to be disappointing to think you're opening the approval letter only to have it not be. I didn't have that with USCIS but I did have that when I sent my notarized letter for authentication and found out you couldn't use military notaries because they can't be authenitcated!!

What you should know about HIV

-HIV can NOT be spread through casual/household contact. HIV is not spread through hugging, kissing, shaking hands, sharing toys, sneezing, coughing, sharing food, sharing drinks, bathing, swimming or any other casual way. It has been proven that HIV and AIDS can only be spread through sexual contact, birth, breastfeeding and blood to blood contact (such as sharing needles). - HIV is now considered a chronic but manageable disease. With treatment, people who are HIV+ can live indefinitely without developing AIDS and can live long and full lives. - People who are HIV+ deserve to be treated with love, respect, support and acceptance as all people do. Additional information on transmission of HIV can be found on the Center for Disease Control website: http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/resources

Little Did I Know

Little did I know that the road would be so rocky
Little did I know that the trip would take so long
Little did I know that my heart could hurt so much
Little did I know that God is never wrong

Little did I know that love could be so powerful
Little did I know that a dream so far could go
Little did I know that God would place the right ones
Little did I know that my heart, so large, could grow

Little did I know that a dream has it’s own timing
Little did I know that this day would finally come
Little did I know that four souls would be sent to guide me
Little did I know that they would choose to call me mom

But God knew all along and He had a plan to follow
God knew all along that my dream would soon come true
God knew all along that we five should be together
God knew all along that I’d share it all with you
