That's FAB
7:36 AM
I found a VERY cute and fun "new?" site yesterday. Moms of girls... you may want to check this out!
FAB Kids is a site that has their own line of very cute and fun (and fashionable!) clothes for girls in sizes 2-12. What's very different is that on the 15th of each month they come out with a whole new selection and will send you their picks for what your child/children who you've registered would like. Each child you create a profile for on your account will have some questions for you to answer about what type of clothing they enjoy wearing and the outfit ideas sent your way each month are based on those answers. That does NOT mean you have to buy something each month, nor does it mean you have to buy from the outfits they select for you, you can buy from any outfits in their monthly wardrobe. Outfits cost $39.95 each, with FREE shipping and returns if needed. BUT, the best is that your first purchase is marked down $20 so you can purchase one outfit for just $19.95, which to me is a pretty good deal! The clothes are made by them and are only found there. Outfits consist of three pieces and are very cute and kid friendly! Worth checking out at least! :) No obligation at all.
I think this is my current favorite!
If you're intrigued you can check them out HERE.
Do keep in mind that when you make your first purchase you are a "member." New outfits and a selection for you to peruse comes out on the 15th of each month. You can cancel your membership, or you must either choose an outfit or click "Skip this Month" or you will be charged for an outfit and it will show up as a credit on your account.

Hair Escapades
11:11 PM
Olivia's hair... what can I say... maybe "I'm sorry" to my beautiful daughter for having such a hair-challenged mom!
Over the years I think I've gotten better at least at attempting some different styles on her. But it was so much easier when she was little. We could do box braids, or cute puffs, even a short afro for a time with adorable flower clips and headbands.
But she's a tween now. Cute braids and barrettes don't quite cut it. So we've been doing more "free hair" lately. The shape has morphed a bit into almost an 80's bob style in a way, shorter on the bottom and full on top, due to her trying to style her own hair from time to time and pulling it out/breaking it off, in the back. :( Not good, but still it wascute cool.
Olivia's been wanting "straight" hair for a LONG. Long. Long. long. long. time. But I have people telling me constantly NOT to relax her hair... to keep it natural... don't relax! So we've not bit the bullet. And though I've heard ways to get that look naturally, I've been scared to try it, being hair challenged and all! :)
But yesterday we tried it.
And it worked (pretty well).
But well enough that she is THRILLED, and that's what it is all about after all!
First I blew dried her hair semi-straight...
close up...
Then I used a flat iron...
And though it needs to be cut into a "style", she LOVE LOVE LOVES it!
She was actually able to pull it (with some help because it's just a bit short still) into a pony tail!
She just keeps thanking me and saying how she can't believe it!
Score!

Valentine's Day 2013
7:40 AM
Had a great Valentine's Day this past week! (Although I completely forgot the tablecloth I purchased last year... oh well... another time!)
I was literally so wiped out from school, it was just a crazy crazy week! But, I still put together some fun but easy meals and things for the kids!
Breakfast:
Heart Shaped Cinnamon Rolls
Strawberries and Whipped Cream
Pink Milk
And a small gift for each...
Since we had school that day, I packed them "special" lunches, most of which was made the night before while I was making dinner:
Nutella Sandwiches with a heart cut out and sprinkles added
Heart Shaped Cantaloupe
Strawberry Yogurt
Smores (grahams, marshmallow fluff, dipped in chocolate) with some red sugar sprinkles...
That night we had a heart shaped pepperoni pizza and "love punch" (sprite, rasp. lemonade, and rasp. sherbet). We were also planning on having heart shaped roasted potatoes but I was too exhausted to make them so we opted for boring corn! :) Maybe next year!

Busy Time
10:27 AM
This time of the year becomes quite busy around here!
First we had Liam's SEVENTH birthday on January 30! I can't believe he's actually SEVEN! I know parents always say this, but I just don't know where the time has gone. Seems like just yesterday we were a foster family, now we're a forever family and have been for quite some time.
Liam has overcome so very much in his young life. More than most of us have ever experienced. And although he is still behind in many educational/social ways, he has a bright outlook and meets challenges head on. I so look up to him!
For his birthday dinner Liam chose summer sausage, crackers, cheese, orange pop, and brownies. :)
He was given a few special gifts and was very thankful for each of them!
And his favorite? I think it had to be the cheese popcorn and nacho cheese Doritos! What can I say? The kid LOVES his cheese and chips! :)
A few days later we celebrated both boys' birthdays with cake and ice cream and a family of friends. They love the Avengers so I found this topper on Amazon, happened upon the cake the day of the celebration, and the rest was on clearance for about 50 cents each! :)
Then on February 7 we celebrated Braeden turning NINE! Is it even possible!?
For his birthday dinner he chose pancakes, bacon, butterbeer, and chocolate brownie ice cream. :)
I made butterbeer over the summer but wasn't happy with that recipe. This one was MUCH better and SO EASY too! RECIPE found HERE.
He received a few special gifts as well.
But I think his FAVE was from Grandma! And guess what I got to do today... put it together! :)
This weekend has been a bit more relaxing. All three of the kids are now on "odds." For half the year they are all three odd or even numbers. And currently they are each 7, 9, and 11. In another two months we will add Macy to our list of odds when she turns 3! :) No news yet in the adoption front but I'm hoping that we'll hear soon that we were submitted to IBESR which will be our first big step!

About Me
I am a single mom to four amazing kids; each of whom just happen to have been adopted. The first three were adopted through foster care, and we just completed an international adoption from Haiti. Our family has grown through adoption and I am all the more blessed to know each of my children. I worship a mighty God, teach Special Ed, love bargains, and am inspired by Pinterest... come along with us for the ride!

What you should know about HIV
-HIV can NOT be spread through casual/household contact. HIV is not spread through hugging, kissing, shaking hands, sharing toys, sneezing, coughing, sharing food, sharing drinks, bathing, swimming or any other casual way. It has been proven that HIV and AIDS can only be spread through sexual contact, birth, breastfeeding and blood to blood contact (such as sharing needles).
- HIV is now considered a chronic but manageable disease. With treatment, people who are HIV+ can live indefinitely without developing AIDS and can live long and full lives.
- People who are HIV+ deserve to be treated with love, respect, support and acceptance as all people do.
Additional information on transmission of HIV can be found on the Center for Disease Control website: http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/resources

Little Did I Know
Little did I know that the road would be so rocky
Little did I know that the trip would take so long
Little did I know that my heart could hurt so much
Little did I know that God is never wrong
Little did I know that love could be so powerful
Little did I know that a dream so far could go
Little did I know that God would place the right ones
Little did I know that my heart, so large, could grow
Little did I know that a dream has it’s own timing
Little did I know that this day would finally come
Little did I know that four souls would be sent to guide me
Little did I know that they would choose to call me mom
But God knew all along and He had a plan to follow
God knew all along that my dream would soon come true
God knew all along that we five should be together
God knew all along that I’d share it all with you
