Evolution of a Pillow Fight
The kids had their very first pillow fight at the hotel Friday night for New Year's. They thought they were pretty hot stuff! :)
Home at Last!
Well I'm sure you've probably guessed by now that we made it back from Florida! :) Sorry for the lapse, but it's been a bit crazy! We arrived home Saturday night, after a two day trip in the car. The kids did well but we did have a couple meltdowns. We stopped Friday night, New Years' Eve at a hotel in TN. Of course, the pool was a great way to burn off some energy!

Sunday was a day of unpacking the car, unpacking some of the things we unpacked, putting away, laundry, cleaning, and lunch OUT! :) A little less cooking and work, not too shabby, and they LOVE dipping their pizza!
Then it was back to it bright and early Monday morning, dance for Olivia and a doctor appt for Braeden, so we weren't home until 6:30pm. Each day since it seems it's been similar. Little time to finish unpacking and taking down Christmas items. This weekend will be a catch up time for me hopefully!
In the midst of it all I feel what I'm guessing is a form of "nesting." I'm rethinking how I'm going to redo the girls' room (Olivia pretty much takes up the room as is, much is needed in the form of a bed and storage to add another), and also about working on our unfinished-but-used basement to turn it even more into a family room. Currently the concrete floor and walls are painted and our tv and most of our toys are down there, but we don't use it much. It's cold and fairly bare and just not "friendly". I'm hoping to fix that to have more usable space.
Lately I've become a big user of Free*cycle and am hoping to find some things through there as well as IKE*A, love me some GREAT deals! :)
On the adoption front, I heard right before our trip that my homestudy was done and approved by our state. It then had to be sent to my adoption agency to be signed by someone there and would be able to be sent to me to include in my i800a application to the US. They talked about sending it to me in FL, etc, but ... I still don't have it. :( I'm hoping for it SOON!
Tonight, some Christmas storage and our family movie night and meal (KFC and Netfli*x thanks to some great Christmas gifts). Tomorrow, more unpacking of the van (yep, still not done with taking out the gifts and the van was in the shop until tonight), grocery shopping, and going to see Tang*led again (thanks to some great coupons and a couple free tickets - plus our theater is pretty cheap and has free refills!)

Pencils
The Pencil Maker took the pencil aside, just before putting him into the box.
“There are 5 things you need to know,” he told the pencil, “before I send you out into the world. Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best pencil you can be.
One: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in someone’s hand.
Two: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but you’ll need it to become a better pencil.
Three: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make.
Four: The most important part of you will always be what’s inside.
And Five: On every surface you are used on, you must leave your mark. No matter what the condition, you must continue to write.”
The pencil understood and promised to remember, and went into the box with purpose in its heart.

May we leave many important marks in 2011.
