It is with humble and amazed hearts that we share that the goals for Davids’ adoptive family financially have been met. Project Hopeful and Lifesong have been in communication and with some last minute donations that are coming in, the family should have all the funds they need to complete Davids’ adoption!

I have been and continue to be simply blown away by the response to Davids’ plight and what God has done through this to bring Davids home! Of course, I shouldn’t be amazed at all though should I? Because we serve a MIGHTY God who LOVES us all and wants us to be safe and loved. Davids certainly has been shown that through all of this and if he had any doubt prior, I know that he doesn’t have to look far in his own story to see God’s mighty hand at work. I believe that Davids will be an amazing tool for God!

And if Davids’ story has touched you AT ALL, what I hope you come away with is that Davids is but ONE boy. ONE little soul longing for a family with no family to call his own. We saw through this that in some countries, children are not adoptable past the age of 16, but did you know that there are MANY countries where children past the age of 5, yes 5, are transferred to an institution and there they stay. FIVE. Most are tied up, left to themselves, fed little, cared for even less, and that is how they live out their life.

So I thank you, from the very bottom of my heart I thank you. For making a difference to ONE. For helping to bring Davids HOME. For SAVING HIM.

Many of you probably know the story of the starfish. Here is a version I found recently that is exactly what COULD happen to the orphans of the world… it’s up to each of us…


The Starfish Story

A young girl was walking along a beach upon which thousands of starfish had been washed up during a terrible storm. When she came to each starfish, she would pick it up, and throw it back into the ocean. People watched her with amusement.

She had been doing this for some time when a man approached her and said, “Little girl, why are you doing this? Look at this beach! You can’t save all these starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!”

The girl seemed crushed, suddenly deflated. But after a few moments, she bent down, picked up another starfish, and hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied,

“Well, I made a difference to that one!”

The old man looked at the girl inquisitively and thought about what she had done and said. Inspired, he joined the little girl in throwing starfish back into the sea. Soon others joined, and all the starfish were saved.
