Drive-in Time
Tonight the older two and I went to a Drive-in! I have not been to one in YEARS and the kids have never been. I used to go with friends in high school to one in my hometown, and then after college with another group of friends a ways away from us. We'd go to these caves during the day, then go to the drive-in and play cards until the movie started. So much fun! Lots of great memories!
I saw that there was one close to here so decided that was something we needed to do. They have SIX SCREENS!!! That is so crazy to me! The only movie that was appropriate was Night at the Museum, and it was a fun night! (Except that at one point Braeden spilled his Crystal Light all over his WHITE Gymboree tshirt - hope it comes out!) :)
I loved watching Olivia tonight. A couple boys and their dad were playing four square near us. A little girl went up and asked to play and I watched how wonderful that dad was and how he incorporated her into the game. Shortly Olivia asked what they were playing and I explained it to her. She asked if she could go play and I encouraged her to, she had so much fun! Then some girls near us started jump roping and I called Olivia over and asked if she wanted to do that and she did, she had SO MUCH fun! :) It was great to see, she can be very shy and doesn't always understand appropriate ways to relate to other kids. She did great, and Braeden and I hung out on our blanket for a while. :)
Zoo Atlanta
Today we went to Zoo Atlanta, lots of fun!!! First you have to love free parking! :) And we had free admission with Olivia's World Passport from her Make a Wish trip last August. The zoo was wonderful!
The shirts you'll see were gifts from Grandma and Grandpa (color - hmmm... fine for the kids, not so sure of it for mom... :) ). Olivia's says "Grandpa's girl, Grammy's favorite", Braeden's says "Grandpa's Buddy, Grammy's favorite", and Liam's says "Grandpa's pal, Grammy's favorite." You sure can't miss any of us in a crowd! :)
Liam will NOT take off the fake Harry Potter glasses. We've had these forever and they are in the kids' car buckets as a toy. He hasn't taken them off since! Too funny! I think he thinks he's being like mommy. So when he lays down for a nap, I have to take off my glasses and lay them on the dresser for him to take off his! :)

Dr. King Center Pictures
We Are on Our First Leg
Of our summer trip!
Wednesday night a very good friend stopped with her two boys on their way to DC for a big trip themselves. The two of us stayed up until 3:30 am when we finally MADE ourselves go to bed. We don't get much time to talk, what with kids and being so far away, and it was great to just catch up and talk. I slept a little over three hours before it was time to get up and get the kids ready for the ride.
We left shortly after 8:20 to start our trip to Atlanta. We stopped for food and restrooms and gas, and the kids did well in the car. We pulled in to our rental house about 9:30 (10:30 GA time). The house is great! Three bedrooms, a nice neighborhood, two car garage, living, dining, big kitchen, basement with computer and tredmill!, two baths, etc. I finally rolled into bed around 11:30. And slept well! :)
Today I got groceries, we went to the Dr. Martin Luther King Center (GREAT!) (and FREE!), I hit an AWESOME thrift store while the kids napped, then we went to IHOP for dinner. (One of the kids' faves!) Here are a couple pics from the Center, but I have more to post soon.
This is on the Freedom Walkway. The photos on postcards at the center show awesome mural type banners along the edges but they weren't up. :( The reflection pool was also drained. :( But it was still so beautiful there! Peaceful...

We plan on going to the Atlanta Zoo tomorrow which looks great! Tomorrow night the mall of Georgia is showing Hotel for Dogs outside which we MAY go to... we'll see how the day goes, but what fun that would be! :) We're off to a wonderful start!!! :)
